Derek has nearly a decade in television from writing, editing, directing and working for stations as production and station manager. He has a early background in radio and theatre, which he followed to Atlanta working with well known Reynolds Production and Casting, and Real Life Productions. Making his way to South Florida, he worked with WXEL, WPAX, WINQ TV as well as many production/independent film companies, some of which include Turner Productions, Paxson Communications, G Star Studios and Krane Academy. Derek currently started his own production company and web site; MorellPictures.com to showcases completed and forecast projects in Picture Books, including his published children’s book the MisAdventures of Frida including many in mock up and “coming soon” titles. The site includes finished Motion Pictures projects and some under way, including WGA east certified scripts and a Picture Gallery of his travels along with other cultural art and information.
